And so it begins...
Ok,yesterday my fyp team and i went to TP to present as well as to set up booth to display for this PSRP (Polytechnic Student Research Programme) project event. Yup,so two teams from each polytechnic (except NYP,i dunno why) was sent there, and my team and another engineering team went. (Our team was nanocrystalline nickel & polyaniline for corrosion protection while theirs was portable audiometer)
Oh yeah, before i go on,i forgot i still owe my project supervisor (Dr. Willy) $6,because he gave me $10 to laminate the labels for our samples for the booth...it costs $4 to laminate two pieces of paper btw.
Wah,yesterday ah,wake up damn early sia,i woke up around 7am,then around 7:40am have to leave home in my white business shirt + black pants + black leather shoes + school provided stuff (blazer, badge, tie, tie pin). Took mrt to bedok mrt station, walk to bedok interchange and took 69 and met the guys at the TP main gate bus stop.
We knew our way around liao la,since the day before yesterday we also went to TP for rehersal as well as to familarize ourselves with the place. The booth was damn small,so we didn't need to bring extra things to display, which was good, because the extra thing is damn heavy (it's a portable computer(not laptop!))
So at near 10am,we went in to the Auditorium Hall #2 and sat down, then wait for everyone to settle down, and started the whole thingy.....zzz
Listened to the Guest of honor speaking abit sianz 1/2 liao, then when the teams started presenting, even more sian, even though one team is limited to only 10 minutes. I sit there stoning until sibei the sian la,keep day dreaming there...lol Then the time came to receive our certificate as well as a token of apprectiation. So we walk up the stage, shake hand with GOH,then walk off,and i and J left for the booth while XX and YR went back to sit. (but the event was over already so everyone went off to the booth,or to the buffet table)
As expected,no one really came to the booths, most of the people seem to go to the buffet table...lol i also want to go,but cannot yet...only one man came and keep asking us questions,he seem to have a lot of knowledge about corrosion or related subjects o.O
So,we finally get to eat!
Food Review,from Chin Zhiyuan,60805.
The baked butter rice not too bad la,but the butter the taste is not really there,so i give it 7/10
Then the mee siam not bad,i give it 8/10!
Didn't like scallop,so never eat
Wah,the black pepper chicken damn damn nice, but very big piece,so very hard to bite,so i give it 9/10 (in fact,so nice until i went for a second round, taking only the baked rice and black pepper chicken ONLY)
The vegetables aren't that bad too,i liked the sauce too.
The drinks there were awfully disappointing though, only got tea and coffee, but by the time we got there,it's all gone so we had to go out and buy canned drinks from the vending machine.
We slack around the area, doing nothing but disturbing one another and taking photos loh (i dunno when the photos will be uploaded, and who will send to us sia...damn wasted,i wanted to see the photos!)
Well,in my opinion,i saw a lot of RP students, those year 2's that came down to watch, how i know is that some of them are wearing the black with green sleeve shirt with RP in front, and some of them are wearing the RP polo tee (i think, got the RP word at the back) lolololololololololololololol.Anyway, we waited around 1 hour then we finally took off out blazer, ties and went to keep out stuff, then we went off, took some photos again, then boarded the bus back to RP to return the blazer, ties, tie pin and badge. We had the bus all to ourselves, with two girls that graduated one year before us (also from materials science diploma) then they took some photos too then we got tired... (the other RP team and RP students took the first bus i think)
Post-event activities:
I think the trip to RP nothing much,so not gonna mention, then after that,we all went home and that was that. One thing i want to mention is that Dr Willy mention to us while we were manning the booth that he was going to bring us to High-tea as a celebration aft of this event,so we have to make ourselves free, but since i'm going to work almost the whole week starting today,so i have to plan properly now...zz but who cares, there's food to be eaten, free some more LOL
...and ends with a fun but tiring day!
