So, I just went to see my doctor today for my blood test results, and confirmed to have dengue. I mean, the rashes is pretty obvious. Speaking of rashes, today the rashes has spread to most of my body now. My hand/palm/fingers, my feet and just continuing to make my skin look more complete red now but covering up what normal skin left in other parts of my body. The only place it hasn't progressed is my neck and above. It's still itchy, idk if the itch meds are working, but I am supplementing that with calamine lotion, but that lotion only lasts a short period of time (~1/2 hour) and back to getting itches again. Surprisingly though, I've slept well so far, compared to the first two days that I started high fever and massive headache (23/6), where i got barely any sleep at all. I read it takes a week or two for the rashes to go away, and the only treatment for dengue is to treat it's symptoms and wait it out. If my blood platelets gets too low, I have to go to the hospital, so i think my doc might be running a blood test every few days just to check in on me. Blood test really isn't cheap ($81), and neither was the dengue blood test ($90), so it's going to cost quite a bit.
In the meantime, I can't really do anything as according to my blood test, my body isn't producing white blood cells enough, so I don't want to risk doing anything strenous. No exercise for me, besides walking. I am doing all that I can, wearing long pants and socks all day long, making sure the fan is blowing at my uncovered parts so no mozzie can bite me, because if i get bitten, the mozzie will go on to reinfect others. On the bright side, i am really managing my fever well, it hasn't flared up since i started taking me panadol that my doctor gave me, and i swear even my nausea feeling has gone down a bit. Still, got to finish my meds in order to keep it at bay.
